Welcome to Yolla District School

Welcome to Yolla District School. I trust you find our website engaging, informative and a reflection of our dynamic school community. We offer a range of programs led by specialist teachers including Music, Health and Physical Education, Art, STEM, Food and Fibre Production, MDT, Certificate II in Animal Studies and Agriculture.  At Yolla your child will be taught the Australian Curriculum, along with a focus on inclusion, social and emotional learning and real life skills.

At Yolla District School we care about your child. We believe that “Education is a Journey” starting with our Launching into Learning (Birth-4) through to our extension to Years 11 and 12.

We know that schools can have the greatest impact when families and school work together, we value getting to know you and your child. As a result, our staff understand the learning needs, strengths and qualities that make each of our students unique, important and special.

We focus on aspiring to do your best, in whatever field that may be, and we celebrate this from Kindergarten to Year 12, through our celebration assemblies, newsletters and Facebook. We believe that every child has the right to a quality education where their learning needs are being catered for.  We focus on all students being able to access, participate and engage in their learning in a supportive and caring environment.

We believe that reading holds the key to education and as such, we have a focus on this through our resources and structures in the school to ensure that all children achieve a reading level commensurate with their age. Further, we believe that the gradual release of responsibility, professional learning communities, inquiry teaching and collaboration are all key factors in quality education. These elements are clearly present across the school and the children, staff and wider community have a relentless focus on each child setting aspirational goals.  In other words, as our Department says, we focus on, “Every Learner, Every Day”

I encourage you to contact the school and organise a tour of our facilities and speak with the friendly, professional staff about what you can expect when you enrol your child at Yolla District School. You can also like us on Facebook and sign up for our newsletter. I look forward to meeting you to discuss your child’s needs.
